How to take care of the air conditioning in the car?

Driving a car in hot weather is quite a problem for most people. Unfortunately, in cars without air conditioning or in a situation where the air conditioning is faulty, the temperature is so high that the comfort of driving drastically decreases. Car air conditioning is a lifesaver that is really worth taking advantage of. However, it’s also a responsibility that shouldn’t be forgotten – regular air conditioning cleaning along with A/C disinfection and inspections are essential to ensure fresh, healthy air inside the car.

How does car air conditioning work and what does it give us?

While it is hard to imagine a car today without air conditioning, not everyone is also aware of how it actually works. It’s worth knowing, if only to realize how important taking care of this part of the car can be. Thanks to air conditioning, we have the temperature we need in the car – but that’s not all. Thanks to it, the clarity of the windows is much better, as it reduces the amount of troublesome steam.

The air conditioning system is quite simple, which means, of course, that the principle itself is also not among the heavily complicated. The air conditioning system is closed and consists of literally several parts, as well as rigid and flexible pipes. The system circulates refrigerant, which causes low-temperature air to enter the car through its ventilation system.

In the first part of the air conditioner, a kind of pump, the refrigerant is compressed, making its temperature and pressure rise. Later it enters the second part, the condenser, which has a cooling function. The next stage is the filtering and expansion of the air, which goes to the aforementioned ventilation.

What are the risks of breathing in air from an unclean air conditioner?

Many people do not realize the importance of car air conditioning care. It is very important to realize how dangerous it is to use air that is contaminated with fungus, dust and other unpleasant impurities. Incompetent use and improper or no care of the air conditioner can cause such diseases as, among others:

  • allergies,
  • airway inflammation,
  • conjunctivitis,
  • chickenpox,
  • tularemia,
  • legionellosis.

These are, of course, only examples, but many more risks can be found in this situation.

How can we keep the air conditioner in good condition?

Above all, it is important to use it and clean it regularly, along with disinfecting the air conditioning (including air conditioning de-fumigation as one part of the disinfection process) and periodically replacing filters and some parts. Air conditioning should be run at least once a week, and it is worthwhile to use it for window evaporation as well. Another point is an inspection every ten thousand kilometers, or at least once a year. It is also very important to disinfect the air conditioning, which should be done once every six months. Getting rid of bacteria, viruses, fungi, mycobacteria or bacterial disputes increases the chance of keeping the air conditioner and our health in good shape. The dehumidifier should be replaced every few years.

Also, no air conditioner is fully airtight, so it is important to check for refrigerant replenishment. Only depletion of more than 10% of the refrigerant per year can be a concern.

In the event that you do not know how to do the service yourself, it is very important to use the services of proven, professional services that use full-spectrum cleaning and disinfecting preparations that kill viruses, bacteria, mycobacteria, fungi, mold and bacterial spores such as NANOCLEAN preparation, because using good air conditioning is a matter of our health. Never take risks in this regard.
